I am a mum.
I have a passion to help other mums.
I am not a medical practitioner, nurse, or trained lactation consultant.
I do have some experience - 6 of my own babies, plus lots of reading and study, and many many hours (dozens of calls every week over the last 10+ years) spent talking to and learning from other mums and their babies, as well as grandmothers and even great-grandmothers.
The advice I offer on my website is not to be taken as a replacement for medical advice.
It is just my opinion, based on my experience, other's experience, and my research.
If you don't like or agree with my opinion, then you don't have to do as I suggest. You are free to do whatever you like with your own babies.
I believe that the advice I offer is valid for the vast majority of babies, including my own.
All babies are different, however, and I can't possibly cover all the variables, although I have tried to give balance and flexibility as much as possible.
I believe that God blessed us with our babies, and that we should view them as a blessing to be enjoyed.
My hope in putting my thoughts down in writing is to pass on what I have learned, and so allow other mums to enjoy their babies as I have.
We live in a world saturated with choice. Most new parents are confused and overwhelmed with the information available on parenting babies. Much of what I have learned was passed down from older generations of mums. Mums have been around since the creation of the world, and I believe the experience of our mothers and grandmothers is very valuable!
Fads come and go, however what I have learned in my parenting experience (which is still happening) is advice which has stood the test of time for at least 4 generations. It is not always easy, but it is fairly straightforward and uncomplicated.
If other people's experiences are different, so be it. This is mine, and I am sharing with those who wish to learn from it.
Thank you for taking the time to read my thoughts. Thank you for sharing your experiences with me and thus teaching me.
May God bless you on your parenting journey!
Simone
